B.A.B.Ed.

B.A.B.Ed. is a four year integrated course which carries a combination of theoretical classes and internships in teaching. B.A.B.Ed. The integrated course combines BA (Bachelor of Arts) and B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education). A BA is a graduate degree that can be pursued after completion of 10+2. While a B.Ed. or Bachelor of Education is a Bachelor’s degree in education. Candidates who want to enroll in it are required to complete a program in any specialization. The main component of this program is especially about ‘learning by doing’ and also classroom teaching. Divided into four years, this course provides an in-depth knowledge of subjects related to Art. The course gives students an experience in communication skills and teaching, and it saves candidates complete one year.

Bachelor of Education programme, generally known as B. Ed., is a professional program that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI -VIII), secondary level (classes IX-X) and senior secondary level (classes XI-XII ).

BA B.Ed integrated course

  • The aim of a BA B.Ed integrated course in India is to prepare students for a career in teaching by providing a comprehensive education in both arts and education: 

    • Integrates general and professional studies

    The course combines a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree to provide a wide knowledge base for teaching. 

    • Prepares for secondary school teaching

    The course prepares students for teaching at the secondary level with a focus on best teaching practices and a community-oriented approach. 

    • Provides pre-service teacher education

    The course aims to address the issue of insufficient focus on disciplinary knowledge in teacher preparation. 

    • Prepares for teacher eligibility tests

    The course gives students a year to prepare for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and other state level teacher eligibility tests. 

    The course curriculum includes: 

    • Subjects related to literature, language, social sciences, history, or art and humanities
    • Educational psychology
    • Pedagogy
    • Classroom management
    • Teaching methodologies

    To be eligible for the course, students must: 

    • Have completed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized board or institution
    • Have a minimum of 50% in 10+2
